does anyone know how to melt black sand to get the gold out. i dont want to use a micro wave . ive heard you can do it with a cast iron pan but not sure what elst is involved?

Hi Scott, take cast iron pan put your black sand in it just cover the bottom of pan heat it up on coleman stove take a bucket of cold water and put ice in the water get as cold as you can stand back throw the hot sand in it this pops the black sand open have fun.

Scott hi dont try to melt gold in any metal pan if you do get it hot enuf you will have gold plated pan you have to use a ceramic crucible . I have melted gold out of black sand it takes a lot of heat like a cutting torch . and never inside and stay up wind never know what might be in the sand
