El Paso Mountains

Well,tommorow at 530 am,Bill and I,are headed out to the El Paso Mountains.Gonna a meet up with Craig.Hopefully,it will be dry enough to run the dry washer.But,even if not,better than sitting at the house all day.if,you never hear from me again,its because I found a nugget the size of a VW.And,am on some island I just bought--LOL

  • If you see any purple splotches on some of the larger rocks down in that area know that it is not grafetti. It is my trail. If you are not familiar with the area do be careful. Believe it or not you can get lost in that area. And....if it is raining anywhere up the creek be careful. The creek can fill to capacity in a really short time. And....... think twice before crawling into the coyote holes and digging. The old timers left those columns of rock and gravel to hold up the top, one wrong shovel and you will be buried in the bank. Several people have died there. But, have found fingernail sized flakes in the crevices there in blue clay like stuff. Everytime it rains and water runs through the wash changes. Have fun and I hope you find that VW sized nugget. Last Chance Canyon is my second most favorite place to camp and play.
