  • When using Muratic acid please check the labels and do not use the environment safe 10 % with soap. The soap is made with a glyceride compound and when nitric acid is added it makes the the explosive compound nitroglycerine. At this point I will suggest some college level chemistry courses.
  • Sodium chloride will percipitate silver, mercury and lead , all in chloride form. We do not neutralize acid in general. That causes everything the acid removes to fall out.
  • nitric acid also eats palladium which can be percipitated with sodium chlorate. Also eats zinc, lead, mercury and several other elements and compounds. If you use ammonium chloride to pericpitate platinum group metals the put in HCl hydrocloric acid all the platinum group metals re disolve.
  • ok why did you soak in nitric for ? is my first question. the only thing you would pull out for the most part is silver. if it is to pull out the iron you should use muratic acid for that. and don't forget to neutralize after wards as well as a good rinse
