I have 4 different matting and just have to experiment with water n angle. And at times I run a second sluice box in line with the first at less of a angle.
i got a chanch to try 3 different types of the hog matting and it work fair but i found a lot of small fine gold in the tailings it depends on a lot of factors like angle water flow rate of feed and how and what its set up o do
Ken so true lol it's all personal preference. I had the Martin ms 46 sluice box and haven't worked for me neither did carpet. Was gonna give miners moss but decided to go with hog matting.
this is 1 of my designs for a banker dredge combo hane used the 1 have for over 37 years now have done a lot of experminting with a lot of different mattings in my opinion i have not found anything that catches the fine gold like the vortex matting but its a personal preffence as to what ppl like and use
have also built some dredges and tromels i like to help ppl build their own equipment as its a lot of fun and a lot cheaper then buying the big name brands that dont do anymore then any other

nice looking piece of equipment
Lots of cool gear and great work on that stand. Who makes that drop riffle sluice? Is that vortex or v mat before the riffles?
