  • To everyone this hoss, I have been looking for plans, details or sketches of a trommel I can build. If anyone has info please send to me at this address or hosschalupa@hotmail.com.
  • Pat- I found a perfect piece for the prototype hand trommel yesterday. This AM, I drilled a zillion small holes in the barrel ( to let the sized sands drip out ) and fashioned a simple sand gutter
( the rocks & stuff pass straight out). A flowing hose for water and spin the thing by hand...it works! Crude, but for a first run...it works great! No gasoline, no electricity, and just acouple of 2x4s and a length of galvanized metal roofing scrap! I'll clean it up a little...and take some pics with a digital camera tomorrow.
  • This is hoss, I am completly intrested in plans sketches or any info in helping me build a portabale trommel, I have been considering buying one, say the mountain goat and building off of that. any info please contact me at hosschalupas@hotmail.com
  • hey there another week of this weather you might be able to make it up the mountain
  • Hi, Pat -
You R right about 1 thing ... prototyping is work, both mental
( frustrating) and physical ( cutting, gluing, redoing, breaking stuff!). I've been in R&D all my adult life...& wouldn't have it any other way! I'm in N.C. - so it looks like we're in two differemt worlds.
  • Welcome in Patrick do you have any cold snow up there now?

Your project sounds fascinating! I do hope the bureaucrats stop the hassling.
