  • Are there any good places to dig and pan in Northern Indiana?

  • I map dowsed a spot on Kilmore creek, near Frankfort for gold,  maybe 5 miles east of Mulberry, have yet to get there. maybe we could meet up that way Aug or October, am stuck at home all of Sept unless its a Sat nite trip. Looking for some new Prospecting buddys?

    • I have been looking for some other buddies too.  My wife goes with me, she's learning.  But its not the same.

  • Went to a city park in richmond Indiana and panned and ran river sluece because a friend had told me that they had seen a guy there running a mini highbanker and he was finding some good sized flakes. We found some tiny flakes there panning and took the sluece cons home. When we went trough the cons we again only found a few tiny flakes but then on really nice flake popped up (on an east central indiana scale) and that was it.

That was on a tributary of the white water river in wayne county.

    • hey jay im from richmond and have found some local flake myself here . which park did you  go to?

    • We found some flakes in springwood, they were mostly sparse and small but one one was pretty good size. I plan to go back there again. We also found some in clear creek.

Have you been prospecting long? Where have you prospected?

  • so far i've found small flakes in just about every place I've looked in Wayne, Randolph and Delaware counties but I am pretty new to prospecting myself and have not turned up any significant gold yet anywhere.

  •  Some of the southern GPAA guys live up that way and prospect around crawfordsville. They knew sugar creek but not kilmore creek. I hope to make it up there soon but I'm also hoping to find places closer to home that have been overlooked.
