where did I lose it, ( thank you Bob Drake )

10493354283?profile=original10493355071?profile=originalwhere did I lose it, was it by the pig pen, or the horse corral, or maybe down by the rock fence where the old Hickory tree fell last night in the storm, or maybe where I slipped and fell coming up the path. What am I going to do if I can't find it, am I going to have to sell one of the pigs or maybe butcher one early, that will help me with the feed. I don't know how I'm going to tell the wife I don't have the money to buy the seed for the garden, I guess I'll go look one more time hopefully it will be found one of these days.
I am sure the farmer never thought that when he lost his large cent in 1845 that a gentleman by the name of Bob Drake swinging a metal detector in 2015 would find it. Bob gave to me as a gift that very 1845 large cent, and my mind hasn't stopped wondering what the person was like, what was their lifestyle, did he have a big family, how long did he live, did the family always lived there or did they move away, these are the many questions that me and my family have been wondering ever sense receiving this generous gift. THANK YOU BOB DRAKE for the great gift, and the paydirt, and the adventure of imagination.( I know this probably sounds corny but the adventure that your mind goes on whether it's a fantastic coin, or a ax head, or a old horse shoe, the adventure that you go on is priceless)

  • You are very welcome my friend! The gold is from my mixed vial of paydirt gold from all over. I only have a few grams of Maine gold and I have a special plan for that once I get to an oz. Glad you enjoyed!

  • 2960247218?profile=originalthank you again Bob, that paydirt was awesome. Was this dirt that you Dug and classified. if so you have a nice hotspot, if not somebody out there is selling a nice product. Sorry it took so long

  • I thought you might enjoy the LC :) And you hit the square nail right on the head! You described perfectly what detecting these old sites is like for me. The real treasure for me is standing at those sites with imagination running wild trying to picture how life was back then. And every now and again, between all the square nails, spoons, lantern parts and ox shoes, a sweet find like that LC pops out to say hi after all those years. Your enthusiasm made my day!
