The Color Of Gold

The Color Of Gold

A and year and a half of prospecting has brought Me the understanding of many things that were uneeded in my preprospecting life, Such as which side of a rock to start digging on, How much dirt to put in a five gallon bucket before it gets so heavy that it hurts the next day, The value of water no matter how much the bucket weighs, How much time to waste if your not finding anything (thats directly proportionate to how nice the day is ), That its a good day if you find gold, That its a really good day if you find a lot of gold, And finally that gold comes in the most amazing range of colors from bright and shiny yellow too warm glowing tones some with pumpkin and some with black patinas, cristalline, small nuggets, paper thin flakes, microspecks and wire shaped, The last thing I've learned is no matter what amazing shape or color My Wife loves it all !!!

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ?

  • One of the most important things I need to add in retrospect is when You find Gold    KEEP ON DIGGING !!!

  • Learning process that I too have gone through.
  • Not to get married again, three times is enuff! lol Two went for the gold, one she's a friend of mine and I'm willing to share with her. She never takes and rarely accepts. That's gold to me!
  • When we started iut we had 5 gal pals \, then we wwhen to 2 1/2 gal pal, and now with I have metal in my back we have ha 1 1/2 gal pal. Now we pick our dirt a little more with some thinking and that made us a little better of a prospector to. like tom said is not how much dirt it what you get out of it.
  • so true!! we have learned we don't need to hike in as much 'junk' as we thought, as it is a long long downhill hike in, and terrible hike out. But than we don't have to worry about claim jumpers:) We have also learned 'slow and steady', especially when moving those boulders, as they will eventually budge, because cussing/throwing tantrums does not work. It's also very enjoyable to learn the stories from the folks that have been doing it a long time, they share the knowledge if you listen:)
