Saturday in French Gulch Sure Glad No One Was Watching

  I'm fortunate to have a claim to work in French Gulch just a 1/2 hour from the house.   Saturday Morning I was down in the Creek by 8:00 am flipping rocks to big too lift out of the way.    After about an hour of digging and running material slipped on a rock while carrying a full bucket and landed on my A##@ against  the waterfall instantly filling both waders  with cold water.    After shaking the jar to the vertabraes off,  on to the sluice I went.        If you have ever filled your waders up you know how hard it is to get them off so I layed on my back on my pile of tailings and stuck my feet in the air.10493342696?profile=original    I was rewarded10493343471?profile=original      with a rush of cold water too the face and chest , oh well back to work for a few more hours and then home  cold  wet  dirty  sore and tired.   Sure Glad No One Was Watching !!!

    Reminds me of a couple weeks ago when I dug for a while with a friend, made quite a hole in the creek bed. Then we went for a walk up stream to do some prospecting of new ground. On the way back I walked right into my own hole...slid down, ended up sitting in the creek with very full boots! Guess I gotta fill those holes faster eh?

    Funny you should say that, when we got back to camp, I took my water shoes off and rinsed them into a pan and panned the sand that was in them....lol didn't find anything, but it was funny.

    Yep Tom all and all a pretty good day if i had been thinking I would have poured my waders in to a bucket and panned that too   Laughing here !

    Howard, always look on the bright side, your pride and bottom is sore, you could've broken something or banged your head...I was at the Llano river and was carrying my new metal detector...slipped fell, got it a bit wet but not too much...had to let it dry out before it worked right. Glad you're okay, and I see from the other picture you found some color to boot.

    It's funny now Howard, but landing on your butt probably didn't feel all that good.

    Been there, done that and like you, didn't like it! If someone had been there, with

    a video camera, you could be paying some blackmail $$$ now. Hope it isn't bruised.
