  • Thanks for the info, Howard. I truly did not know that actual meaning and it is nice to learn something new. I will admit that they are pretty cool looking! Take care and good gold to you, sir!!

  • Presto Hoodoos is a word that commonly describes naturaly eroaded formations or pillars like the ones in Archs National park or in Monument Valley. But the name also applys to man made stacks they were used to mark supply Casches, property & claim boundries as well as trail markers. Jane and I have spotted many thru Our travels that apeared to be just artistic stackings these two are some of the best we have come across !!!

  • I like that Howard you no like I do you cant prospect all of the time, for us my kids would kill me if thats all we did.

  • Interesting, Howard. Kinda neat, too! The environmentalists here at the range tell us that everywhere there are rocks stacked like that here on WSMR that it means that it marks an area of interest...like an archeological site, hyroglyphics, a Native American/U.S. troops battle site of some kind, etc. Maybe you might want to look around a little more closely in the area. May prove to be quite informative and maybe even beneficial.

  • Self portraits?? Look in' good!!
  • The first Rock Guy looks cool..the other looks like he musta just graduated from TheSchool of Rock!!!

  • those are really neat

  • Cecil they are just dry stacked and balanced !
