I tried to grow watermelons, and cucumbers up in South Dakota a few years back, and had some luck with them one year, but somehow, lost the touch. But tomatoes, and cactus are my speciality, when it comes to plants.
I particularly, love growing the cherry tomato, it seems to grow in any climate, and the plant usually can withstand temperatures as low as 35 degrees, before any damage occurs, and can grow even in the hottest regions.
When they are ripe, I love taking a few right off the plant, and munching on them, straight up.
I should see a few good tomatoes sometime either in mid, to late July, and more soon thereafter, I'm hoping for a good crop.
