How to find the status of claims through BLM For AZ, CA, CO, EASTERN STATES, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, AND WY

For AZ, CA, CO, EASTERN STATES, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, AND WY

1)      To get the Township and Range go to http://www.geocommunicator.gov/blmMap/Map.jsp?MAP=SiteMapper

2)      Zoom into your location and use the identify button at the top, then click the location you want.

3)      Then select the PLSS button at the top and it will give you the Mining Claim Authorizations Cases

4)      After getting the Township and Range information go to http://www.blm.gov/landandresourcesreports/rptapp/criteria_select.cfm?rptId=19&APPCD=2&

5)      Then check the Meridian Township Range box then click the Select Criteria button

6)      Then click the Set Admin State and select the state and click the Set Case Disposition button

7)      Then select the case status you wish (I highlight them all) the click the Set Meridian Township Range button

8)      Then using the  Meridian, Township, and Range fill in the blanks and select the Add to MTR list and then Select the Run Report Button

Using the Meridian of 21, Township 13N, Range 9E this is the report run.

    Here is a link to Help you find What Minerals have been taken from an Area. http://mrdata.usgs.gov/  Look for Mineral Resources Data. When you find your Area Zoom in to find names and get Details

    Here is a Good locator, www.geocommunicator.gov/  (you may have to start from google), On the left top you will see  Interactive Maps click it,  look for  PLSS click it,  A new window will open up find where you are and zoom in, you will see town, section, range ,and plots. on the right side you can define your search

    dont forget to go to the county also the blm is not often right. I have people file over me all the time coz they dont

    You can use this web site to Longitude and Latitude to convert to Township and Range http://www.earthpoint.us/TownshipsSearchByLatLon.aspx I enter the Longitude and Latitude as follows for the Bear River Campgrounds, LON: 39 04 53.45 N, LAT: 120 59 28.50 W and used the view and got the Township of 14N Range of 9E Meridian of Mount Diablo, State of California. Using the Fly To On Google Earth I was given a download and upon selecting this download was taken to the spot on Google Earth.

    Great info. step by step,    Do you know how to cross refrance with GPS. longitude and latitude ??
