Haunted prospecting

Has any one ever prospected on haunted ground? The claim jumpers have been researching a spot on a river up around Peru Indiana. It's suppose to be the most haunted site in Indiana. From what I've found out it's paranormal at any given time. Weird whistling, phantom animals, even a little girl named Stephanie , who was raped and murdered there in the 80's shows herself. It's said if you whistle into the woods she will whistle back. If she likes you she will laugh and play around you. If she doesn't she screams and throws things at you and even beats on your vehicle. Gold wise there are three creeks that feed into the river, lots of boulders and Jay and I have pulled some good color out of that area. So are we crazy or just stupid. I'm not superstitious but I do believe in the paranormal. I'll enjoy your thoughts to test the scales. This will be fun!

  • Yeah Lynn but it's not just about Peru. I'd like to hear about stories from ghost towns, haunted mine ect.. Surly some members have visited some of those places and would like to share.
  • It will be interesting if nothing else.

  • It's on the Missinnewa around the seven pillars. It's creepy man. They say it was an Indian burial ground and a battle was fought there too. It's said there are thousands of spirits in that woods. It's called Okie Pinokee.
  • I guess the next time I have to work in Huntington, IN. I will have to take a little road trip down the Wabash and see about that... I have wanted to do some panning or sluicing in the Wabash so might as well do both, prospect for gold and see if I can see any ghosts...
