Got out prospecting a new area here in south east michigan on 3-26. Weather was a balmy 50 degrees. First time this year. First 4 test pans of 8 mesh classified material yielded zero colors. I moved 100 yards down stream and did another test pan. As i got close to the bottom of the pan the black sands were thick. A few taps on the side of the pan and 17 flakes revealed themselves. Made my heart pound. Thats the most in one pan ever for me. Ran one and a half 5 gallon buckets through my gold cube before the sun set and got about 300 colors. Best ever. Here is a picture. Cant wait to go back.
