I am new to the site, but have been prospecting for a few year. I am from western NY and have found some flower gold and would be interested in other places in NY where you have found gold.

    The WNY Gold Prospectors site is now on face book. We still meet the second Saturday of the month at the Newstead Library in Akron. We would like to have you back.

    The Cat Creek site is at Gowanda and is on public land.

    My gold claim is Chartieville just north of Pittsburg NH.

    John... I sent you a friend request.  I attended a WNY Gold Prospectors meeting last spring and joined the club.  But I don't think I ever got a meeting notice from them and I forgot about them.  I go to NC a couple of times a year.  Both Thermal and Lucky Strike are friendly places with reasonable rates.  Is the spot you referenced on Cat Creek public land?  Where is the group located  that has the Quebec claim?

    I am considering NC this Summer, Thermal City, Lucky Strike and other spots. I Have not been there before and would appreciate any recommendations.

    I live in Hamburg NY also. There is gold in this area, flower gold, in the East Branch of the Cattaraugus Creek. I also am in a group that has a gold claim in Quebec where we find some better gold. I belong to the WNY Gold Prospectors.

    Hi Brian. I'm in syracuse too. The NYGPAA meets 2nd Saturday of every month at cortlandville highway dept at 10am. And you DO NOT need to be a GPAA member to join us. There are spots all over my with gold. And yes 99%flower. I do a lot in VT and NH and usually do NC once a year.
    And welcome to the site this is a great place with a lot of I formation and great ppl

    Hi John.... I'm in Hamburg.  I've never tried any prospecting in NY so I can't help you there.  I've been to N Carolina a few times..... Lucky Strike, Thermal City, Mt. Creek.

    Syracuse, N.Y. Prospected all over the country and also in Wales and Scotland. Just as the old timers you have to weigh if several trips finding a spec or 2 is worth it or go to N.H. for 2 days and get a gram.
