BLM

I was inspected by a BLM Ranger last week..No fine but I had to make changes to my 5"..From what he told me, on BLM land in Ca you have to have no more than a 4" nozzle or you have to file a plan of operation!!!! More rulls we do not know??? He had his Off. send the regs and it is there!!!They say small scale is 4" or less

  • We run into the same thing here in Colorado. There is a 4" max for nozzle size on the Arkansas River. I know several people running 5" units with a 4" ring reducer welded on the front. Makes for a dirt moving machine that nearly never clogs, not all that bad an idea. What hurts more is horsepowere restrictions and pump intake size restrictions. these vary from area to area. 4 or 5 inch nozzle makes no difference if you can't run a pump big enough to handle it. For your own claims, you just go through the hoops and put in a plan of operations, but for public areas and unclaimed spots, the ball is in their court.
