They say the roads being put back this year. I hope so it will cut an hour off the trip each waywhen I go to the Prospectors Plus claim on the North Fork of the Skykomish. It sure is a pretty drive though. I tried to post a picture from the ride up (near Jack Pass) but messed up and it's the next one in my photos
I use to camp along Oleny Creek a lot when I use to head down to the Sultan Basin area.. Yeah lots of Bullets in parts of Oleny also... I have a good spot a friend of mine from Sultan told me about above Horse Shoe Bend.. It is a hike to get there though and man need to be part billy goat to get down to the river & up but some good potential for some good gold to... Have they fixed the road yet heading up river from Index?
We had lots of fun up there this past year. The gold is fine and most is so flat that it really tests your panning, maybe that's just me. I am going to refine my gold from this past year and surprise my wife with a pendant made from Washington gold. I'll post some pictures of the project.

Doug, You can head up the East Fork Lewis River I have found some nice color above sunset falls... Be careful though there are active mining claims in the area, if you hook up with the NWMPC http://www.nwmpc.com/joomla out of Vancouver / Portland area.. They have a few claims up on Copper Creek near Sunset falls.. Good luck and when I visit home we should go do some digging...
