Dennis much of the bed rock is rotted and breaks up easily the gold gets stuck down in it and yes the sections that are cracked get separated and cleaned up you take it all the way down to solid rock !
You guy's would realy Break up that Bed Rock or just Move some of it out of the way? Wouldn't the Gold be under that Dirt and in the Cracks of the Rock ?
My weapon of choice would be a nice big slide hammer and a 4' crowbar.. That one good sized rock-head up top there to the left would pop with a screwdriver!
looks like you need a Metal Rake and a Wire Brush along with a Shop Vac. Boy that creek really goes through it's Paces , I would hate to be the one Breaking that Rock ':O

Your Right Michael and I have a medium and a heavy slide hammer built just for this and keep them handy !
