I would Hate to be the One to Destroy These but I do Metal Detect around them and find there Tailing so I can Investigate the Rocks by Crushing and using a 60x Loop and UV light, Then I go out in the Field to Find the Source.
A friend of mine found an old assay furnace made out of a 30gal drum that was lined with fire brick. He took out the fire brick, and crushed up the slag that he found in it. He got over an oz. of gold out of it, so it's definitely worth looking in to. Ted

Those guys were typically sloppy with their pours.. I would dig that out and Pan It, and or Metal Detect!
