    Some good info josh, it could be a good idea to have an assay. Are you working a sand bar or starting hard rock mining ?

    @Keith I am the only prospector on the planet that deosn't have a detector LOL.

    @Spur I believe it is a piece of a vain.

    I am finding big chunks of quartz as well. There are a couple pieces I found bigger than a bowling ball.

    Nice Find looks like a pice of a vain.. Have you looked at it through a loop or used a UV light on it. One from a fish tank will work.

    have you checked for metal content with a detector...!
