The area is a creek bed hillside the top material goes from brown to grey when I get in the grey its almost like cement.. mixed all in this material is quartz and black rocks.. below that is a rust layer then a hard black layer below that is a milky white quarts layer.. then it seems like all the rock are melted together beyond that
Hard to tell from the pictures but is that loose material on the edge the black area ? That you intend to gather and sluice in the river ? From the pic it looks like all hard rock

Test pan locations to determine if the material is worth shoveling into your sluice. No need to shovel a bunch of material that doesn't contain gold!
