I'm used to snowy conditions being from central Idaho. I guide wilderness elk/deer hunts there till late november packing in with horses and mules to 8500 feet. That 2800 feet at the claim is fairly mild compared to that! Course a good wetsuit helps, but have to thaw it out on truck dash with heater blowing on it first. Then warm the sluice box so the ice doesn't take concentrates out with it. I can appreciate what those old timers wintering in there went through!

There is a big dome tent under that tarp! And there is a lot to be said for Mr. Heater!
