I have been a distributor for 3M nomad for years. When they asked me to quit exporting to Russia I found a mfr. to make a similar product to my specs. It is a little thicker than the 3M heavy duty 8100 and I think great in placer mining for holding fine gold. I sell it for less than half the price of the 3M heavy duty.

Testing in Russia stated the nomad raised their recovery 20% over the best other matting used.
Many Russians will use the backed matting but I think it best in the front of the box for grabbing quick samples.
Just got some Miners Moss and compared the 2. The material appears to be the same! The weaves are the same. The only difference I can tell is that the dog mat has a solid back and has compressed printing on it. When I get finished with the highbanker to run material I will test the two to see if it works the same. I'll keep ya informed!
the vortex matting is a lot better to use then anything catches all the gold clean up is a snap have used it for over 35 years in all type of equipment the diff in the cost is well worth it it last for years dont got to fight to get it to clean out
Only difference is miners moss is open all way through where this has a solid back which may be even better cause you dont have to have any ribbed matting under it!
