The Gold Spear has been around for a number of years and if it was all that great for finding gold it would be a number 1 seller, no matter the cost!!
I have read some reports a few years back by a few people that have owned/used a Gold Spear and they say that it does work, BUT, it will only work if you touch the gold with the end of the probe, and we all know that most gold is buried under overburden and overburden has lots of rocks in it and trying to get the probe past the rocks to maybe touch the gold that "maybe" there is a shot in the dark, and for that price I think a good Minelab detector would be a better investment.
Right now the Goldspear is out of stock and we are in the process of developing a brand new instrument that will hopefully be ready in one year.
So at this moment we cannot help you but we will save your email and come back to you with news as soon as we start to manufacture the brand new Goldspear.
We do have some second handed units in stock and we can sell one to you for 1 500 USD.
I am interested in finding out more about them I know where i can pick up a used one for $225 that has one extra probe, i have sent an emailed to guldstrom they are suppose to have a free cd on the gold spear u can get a little more information about them here along with being able to look at thee manual for it they have the prices on there website in euros but and trying to convert it to USD it looks like the probes are $123 each but the best i cant tell on the actual unit would be about $2700
