I'd love to see it all in action. Hmm...maybe I could hold off running all of my cons.... LOL!! Glad you are getting a "cut" of the cons, as I'm sure that was a lot of work.
No Keith I get a 50% share of that outing not just a bucket what he does is run it through a muti screen classifier then runs those cons separate. the 20+ mesh gets run through sluices and the finer stuff gets put on a shaker table. As for the diamonds he says he has a friend that uses some sort of jig that separates the diamonds by specific gravity he explained it to me but it was a bit confusing but he doesn't use the grease plate. Will keep you updated and if he lets me will get pics of his concentrators and shaker table setup maybe he'll even let you come out to see this all going on first hand?????
Thanks for the info, Bill. That sounds like a very interesting operation. For the diamonds, he ought to consider a grease plate. At any rate, considering the volume of material, I hope the gold is at least paying for his fuel costs! [What, you didn't get a bucket of cons for your efforts??? LOL!]
He's finding some nice little flakes there about whats to be expected in south western Ohio but his main goal is the diamonds that were found in that particular stretch of real estate. We were working a old stream bed that was left by the gravel miners that dug the quarry they left this stretch of land alone due to the fact it was mostly small hard pack layer on a clay layer not real productive for gravel mining but great for gold!!. I didn't wait for the cleanup as it takes some time to cleanup this monster it produces 5 to7 5gal. buckets of cons!!!!! so it takes a little time to go through them.
