My digging partner and I borrowed an old machine that works slick but could definately be updated, but for being close to 40 year old piece of equipment it were not bad at all in the design.

When old Archemedes invented that reverse spiral to bring water out of the river to irrigate with, they found 2000 years ago it was ring up the gold out of the river with the water, and there are several machines in recent history that have used this principle to recover gold with, for the small scale the dixie doodlebug is one of the best, and if i can find one to possess i would not hesitate to buy it and rebuild whatever it needed to make it run again. the closest one on the market today is the www.goldscrew.com but the spirals are different, though it works on the same pretext. A really decent small scale mining machine is the old Tri-R units, the one we have is 2 feet wide and 8 feet long and will accept about 4-6 yards per hour screened to one inch minus... film at eleven..... ok maybe when we get it set up on the claim this summer, still snow over 5 feet deep on the road a mile from the claim.
