After a little more research the pattern on the shield was only used in 1714 and 1715. Thats the best i can narrow it down for ya :) 2 years is a lot better than 2 centuries lol. Would be cool if it was from the 1715 fleet!
Very cool! The date is to the left of the O. The 1 and 7 are clear so it 1700's. Which makes sense seeing how the J assayer for the Mexico City mint is Jose Eustaquio de leon. He was assayer from 1705 to 1723. Great cob!
