lol you all..the over hang looks worse than it was...i dig a little hole like this then take the rocks out one at a time cause it easier to have them fall in my hand then bending over to pick up.....then the overburden just gets shoveled out when i knock it in...im safe
On a positive note: that looks like some good material you got there Scott :) But If we don't hear from you in couple days, were all coming out to look for ya ;)
I don't like working in caves like that. I usually cave them in and run the loose rock through my highbanker. Loose rock is a lot easier to shovel then the compacted dirt. Good luck, stay safe.

You need some type of Shoring 3/4 Ply or http://stepring.com/StepRing/StepRing.Com_-_Home_Page.html .. or a 50 gal drum cut in half with legs Looks like Fun
