I do keep a gun close by most of the time Ed.However we usually are mining well above where the salmon are willing to go so bears are a real rarity. Havent seen 1 yet as a matter of fact,though as you can see they have been in camp.

Thanks William! The hand belongs to one of my dredging partners. Ya smaller bear but he pooped in our camp like he was a monster.
He used his left hand because the other hand is missing a finger. The dredge bit it off.
