Never have tried Zinc. I'll have to check in to that. Normally I will just clean the stuff in the tumbler, rinse and add the mercury. Once all the mercury is gathered up, I put it in clean water and add more mercury to get it to pool together, then on to the plunger and cotton balls. BUT I still want to get a retort, it has GOT to be handy! With retorts though, the BEST ones are those with the vent tube coming out of the discharge tube! They prevent water from being sucked up the tube and turning the retort in to a grenade!
When ever I go this route Mine Flours, I think it is becouse I am crushing Ore and it has Oils, to Remedy this I've been advised to add Zink and it will Ball in a Tumbler then I coild use one of these . Nice Unit
Did you make this or buy this? I really do need to get a good retort but something a tad bigger. I probably have 20 lbs or so left over that should be retorted and I cringe at taking the time to do a tablespoon at a time! LOL

Only makes a 1/2 cup at a time!
