    Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.  Just got back from Nevada where I was looking for turquoise in the Carlin Trend area.  Found a bunch and also some purple sandstone which is very beautiful and I think would be a great landscape material but you can't file a mining claim for materials such as sandstone, sand and gravel etc.  Back to working on trying to make sense out of the rare earths situation.  Prices all over the place, very little recycling but many potential deposits in the US.  According to USGS New Mexico has the most but there are also placer deposits of rare earths in the deep south.
