joined your fine group and am looking forward to my first yr.dredging in oregon .Im curious other then garnets what other minerals,gems should i be looking for???

That's a pretty good question Jerry and as far as Oregon goes, I don't have an honest answer but... I have worked the Klamath in N. Califunya and gotten Garnets. I do know you can get garnets, rubies, sapphires and even diamonds in Montana and even parts of Idaho, depending on the area. They are all part of the Corundum/Silica family I believe, and are heavy enough to trap in a dredge or a sluice.

hey tony thats sure alot of minerals i only want 10 of each im not greedy.found a nice picker today and that was it from 12 5gal buks .but im on the trail of some private ground to detect looks good.i will have to post pics if i can figure it out.hey do you have places next to your house to mine?is it all real fine back thier
