  • I have a 2009 Yamaha Rhino. Goes everywhere but limited bed capacity. Another guy I prospect with has the double seat Polaris which is huge. Fits all our stuff and rides a lot easier and quicker over tough terrain than his jeep wrangler which has very little storage space. We trailer either UTV to trailheads. The National Forest system has been blocking off a lot of forest roads and trails, either to zero entry or to 50" or less UTV's. The Rhino is still a little too wide to make that as it is 53 inches or something like that. The Razr and some others are 50 inches or less so if you want to go into the National Forests and not get a fine on most of the back trails, you need to have something like that.

  • I ride 2006 honda rancher bought a pair new. I take them into some places that most people shoulnd be.
They are not speed demons, but I got over that along time ago.
honestly though I havent had a bit of problems with them, and I am not regretting it.
they may only 350s b ut they have enough power for what I can throw at the, and I can get into alot of places thet my friends with there bigger ones can't.
  • Yes I plan on getting a new one. I am just waiting for construction to pick up a little more. Seems people don't want to part with any money right now.
  • It looks like it's going to be the Polaris 500 sportsman. Thanks guy for all the help.
  • Very Nice. Im envius. Oh well Im glad for you.
  • Danny,
Once I find an ATV I will have my racks made, my wife works for a hot rod builder . And as far as the rake it's just a heavy duty garden rake.
  • My best friend has a grizzly, he loves it. One other thing to think about. The Atv makers that also make snowmobiles have better plastic for their bodies. And about flat tires, get a plug kit to take with you and also carry a small air compressor. Also buy an Atv with a winch. If you go down narrow trails you might want to get a smaller atv. Of all my friends ATV's and my Can Am , My Polaris rides the nicest. It has a independent suspension all the way around. Comfy ride.
  • Thanks guys this helps. I do like the 8 wheels and there seems to be a lot of room. but I need to slide in the truck. It is between the Polaris and the yamaha grizzly.

I have a 350 4x4 atv Yamaha, It is not the largest atv and the coast will not keep you from retirement.I like 350 when I am out nugget hunting. It will get me were I want to go in the desert, small enough to turn around in tight places, fast enough to get from one places to another. You can buy or make atv trailers that will carry all your gear. They have accessories for just about any thing you can think of. Srferjo you can get a good deal on a used atv from a priviet person, the only thing with a used atv you might not fine the atv you are looking for.The major company have some real good deals, no money down low or no intrest for two years. Check this site out it lists the 10 most popular atv.----About.com 4 wheel dr/off Roading.
    • I own to Polaris 4x4 s . a 330 and a 500 sportsman. I also own a CanAm 800. I think is comes down on how much you want to spend. My 800 is super fast. Can climb anything. But my 500 is still fast and can climb anything. I have rode over 8000 miles in the past 7 years on my 500 and 800. neither has let me down. I think Polaris makes a tougher machine, but heavier. My only recommendation is to have a back up pull start. My 800 does not. 500 does. I don't think you could go wrong with any machine out there. I know Polaris if offering some pretty good deals on finance right now. Good luck.
