We look for gold, gems or whatever treasures in places where most folks wouldn't look. Sometimes we use logic and deduction and sometimes we go off on a tangent, but we tend to find something even if it isn't what we were looking for. Come and share.

  • Right now some of the wrong places I would look at are definitely underwater. Fast, turbulent and deep water.

  • Thank you looking forward to connecting with you

  • Halo {hello},

I have been looking at rivers like the Arkansas that come from gold bearing areas that travel through Oklahoma. I know that the Arkansas starts in Colorado along with its early tributaries then travels through Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas before joining the Mississippi River.
I also know of the story Tom related on the "Gold Fever" show about the 'Wichita Hills' (we have called them the Wichita Mountains for longer than I have been alive). I realize there is a ban against any form of prospecting there but that doesn't cover the streams and rivers that are outside the area which flow from there. These like the Arkansas River have been flowing for thousands of years and longer.
I am working to find old maps as well as topographical maps which I can use to find the old river beds and any possible buried beds. I know that since the dams and navigational routes were put in it messed with the flow of gold along the routes, but there is still fine dust still in what sands are able to travel during the heavy flows of water.
I would appreciate any help with getting any of the maps that can be still found. Wadv, Spiritwalker Taka

It isn't just gold that is found in odd places, but it maybe silver, other precious metals, gems or semi-precious stones. Some people use what they consider logic, but when they might try and explain their logic people may just grin while they think it is time for the padded cell and a straight…
