No, i dont use it with dry material i made the cylinder with clear acrylic so i can monitor the water and material level. If i dont pay attention i might get a little water in my mouth but rarely.
I forgot to mention my best creation, its the cylinder with 2 clear tubes coming out. I built this crevise sucker about 1 year ago and it came out so good and worked so well that my wife and othr family members said i should make and sell it. I was watching a u tube video of a guy crevising in az. Using just a piece ot tubing. He would suck up material and blow it in a pan, worked well enough, but in the background you hear him spitting out dirt and gravel. So i came up with this its basically a single tube interupted by a clear cannister to catch the material. Its for finnishing a crevice. I also use it to suck up and carry home cons and various other things related to prospecting. Its human powered. I think i could do very well selling it but ive got to actuall figure out how to. Its just not as easy as it might seem, atleast for me
this is my recirculating bluebowl, the previous residents left the wash basin so i put a resevoir underneith, a board on top and in the sink is a medium sized bucked with holes in the sides to let the sand fall in the bucket and water to flow out and down the drain to the resevoir. i moved the control valve about 5' away to keep the flow more steady. there is also an adjustable flouresant light above.
