Jay, we were up on a creek from Livengood. Old mines everywere! Old timers set up boilers, ran pipes down the shafts to thaw out the muck using "stingers" ---special pipes that could be driven into the perma-frost. Not a real safe way to mine!!! Anyway, a Canuk company was hydraulicking the whole valley back in '92. Reall y good gold in the high benches--- would have loved to see what the old timers mucked out on the bedrock.
