I think your right there Spur. It was all they had at the metal shop at the time so I went with it. I also used astro turf instead of miners moss. Still caught the fine gold.
Looks like you did a good job but I think the exp metal is cut wrong the dimands go side ways with the high flair on the up side of there hole. ( if you run your fingers down the sluice they will flow up the sluice and they catch) this makes the drop needed.
I bought a 8'x12" board cut in half then cut a half in half for the sides. the frame inside is to hold down the expanded metal onto the miners moss. it caught gold out at the Swank property a couple of years ago. Only problem was getting enough water to go through it. That is why I bought an aluminum sluice.
