My DIY sluices

  • Thanks William! I'll try to get more pictures with more detail on here when I can. I've got an idea for another sluice that I'll post here when I've got it built. I'm thinking of something between a pan and a sluice so....... a pluice? Or maybe a slan? It should be good for small scale testing hopefully without classifying but I don't know yet. Worth a try though.
  • Thanks Ron! I love getting things that most people would throw away and making something good out of them. The more strange the source material is the better too. Just for example, the side rails and hold down bars in the long sluice are made from aluminium recovered from a big capacitor out of a fork lift truck! Also, the stainless steel grizzly bars on the bazooka are made from those spikes that are put on buildings to stop pigeons from nesting. The body of the Keene style sluice is made from a damaged ice cream sign that a shop owner was throwing away. All honestly acquired but free which is the best price of all!
