Lawn fertilizers just eat up the zinc like a strong acid. I have gotten many of these pennies from detecting.
Looks like a rare 1/3rd piece. Good find!!!
Its the very rare 1982 United States 3/4 cent. Only located where lawn mowers roam freely and the blades are sharper than the zinc is strong
