  • The classifier is 1/4 inch and the water tubs are 3/4 inch.  I will use a different classifier that is a sheet metel with round holes instead of the squares.  Every thing will be home made and anyone interested may copy at will.

  • Hi Ed Haas:  I got down on the river about four times last summer.  Didn't find much gold but what I did recover was the flower gold, very fine.   So I know it recovers what is in the gravel and keeps it.  I am going to change some things and head down to Happy Camp, Ca. along about May of June.  Well post new pictures of the changes in a couple of months.  What I have now is slow going and want to build a bit bigger and handle more material.

  • Have you used this much since you built it?

is that a 1/4 inch classifier you have on it?

  • A few years back while scouting up river on the rageing, I met and talked with a couple fellows that were finding some gold.  They had camped for a while and had a pretty good showing.  They also showed me some gold taken from the ceder.  Guess I should do some scouting and see if there are areas one could get into.  Most of the lower areas are boardering private property and the upper part is owned by the city of Seattle and no trespassing signs all over.  How ever the only permit required for prospecting in Wa. is the gold n fish book.  That pamplet can be printed and carried with you.  Most clubs have the url address on their web pages.  Its about 70 + pages.

  • Gerald, Have you ever been to the upper Cedar River? Not much farther and my maps show at least 30 claims up there around 1906. Raging is in every book and text out there, and its close to seattle so it get hammered on real hard. Cedar isnt in the books, just on the old maps. Probably need a state permit though, or a FS permit. Just a thought. The guy in the shop there in renton would know the details.

  • No drawings yet.  This was all made from ideas in my head.  Still working on this thing, ironing out some problems that come up when on the river.  It holds micro scropic gold and am still looking for a good spot on the raging river.

  • can you send me some drawings thanks
