The box on ours and about 90% of the others we saw ride in the middle of the boat between the pontoons. The pontoon style seems to be the most popular type in the medium to small boat type. We were working in on 7 foot of water and 12 was the other depth most worked. I was told it is only about 30 foot deep for a long ways from shore. It was explained to us that the gold line runs perpendicular to the shore because the cracks in the ice are where the gold get pushed to my the movement from the sea. Every time our diver found gold that was the case. If he worked parallel to the beach it would disappear. The motor on the boat we had was to big to be used in most areas and they were happy it blew so they had a reason to change it. They were going to a much smaller horse power motor so they can work an area known as "the recreation area" which is where most the shows dredges were working when they could get out.
How do you have the Dredge set up isit on your boat with a big pump ? How Deep is the water there, and How far out can you go befor you lose the gold line ? "Nice Shirt".
