Ok who knows what this might be? A little info about the object it comes in at 1.75oz and is 1.92"L x 1.36"W x .78"H. A magnet will not stick to it and I pulled this out of my sluice box just passed the 2nd riffle and wasn't moving at all.2 minutes ago

Well Keith I will have to say it looks like that might be what it is. When I first seen it I was thinking it was some sort of iron slag until I put a neodymium magnet on it and it fell off.

it streaks red so hematite it is. well now I know and when I find this again I wont say hmmm im taking this home. lol
My guess would be that it is Hematite (Fe2O3). Very heavy, and abundant in many places.
