  • Thanks Lynn.

  • Thanks Jim that helps a lot.

  • I made mine with the sluice underneath, and there are issues with it. Water runs over the dam on the hopper under the drum on both ends, and falls on the sluice, and on the motor. Think I may have to tear it down and start over.2960231327?profile=original

  • Durant, here is an example of a sluice out the side. The 12" California Sluice:http://www.casluicebox.com/TROMMELS.html

  • very nice.

  • There is nothing keeping you from having the sluice go whichever way you want.  You might want to make it so that you can have the sluice go any direction.  That way you set up the trommel and sluice to take advantage of the terrain.

  • Actually, I like the side sluice. It gives you more options with your tailings, especially if you are recirculating out of a tailings pond.

  • I'm not an expert on it but I sure don't see anything wrong. Rocks go one-way and sand and gold the other
  • So there is no down fall on with way I go with it.

  • I've seen some that ran both directions. Some to the side and some from the back.. I like what you have so far.
