ironized gravel layer with layered sand underneath... black sand content not too bad... color though.. not so much as I'd a thought...

yep, the '82 quaternary map didn't indicate this stuff was there. It was windy as all get out when I worked this stuff. I think it tilted my mini highbanker enough to blow out the cons in the sluicebox. Hope to get back there next year...
