  • About the only place I can think of to use a trommel would be South west of Payson on Rye Creek. GPAA has a claim near there and you will have to check it out. I don't know what size trommel or RV you have but a little further south on 87 you will come to an intersection of hwy 188 towards Lake Roosevelt, turn left and go 3 miles to Jakes Corner. At Jakes Corner you will find an RV park.  If you have a good map or maybe ask someone, you can locate Gold Creek from there and there should be enough water in it for a small trommel. Tonto creek is a little further on, and it feeds Roosevelt Lake, which is also a very good place to camp. Back to 87, head south to Sycamore creek and there is usually water there. None of this is garanteed! Water is very scarce here in the summer. I won't be here by then, I'll be in Oregon or Nevada. Good luck!

  • Hi Dan, We are just starting out prospecting and are planning a trip to Az this summer.  We would like to find a spot to park our RV over night and be close to  water to use our trommel.  Do you have any ideas?

    Thanks Wally
