Here's a group of artifacts, fossils, rocks, and minerals that caught my eye when leaving a home I was called to buy other items. I never had any experience with this stuff but thought it was really interesting so asked, "How much?". They informed me that they had shoe boxes of this stuff and they wanted to sell it all. It was the fathers who was an Amateur Paleontologist and basically "left overs" from he donated to a Museum of Natural History. Apparently he had Mastodon items etc. When he passed in 96 they moved the mom out here to NY where I live. I believe that's when they discovered the "left overs" and carried them along. They were from Michigan, the Seagate area I believe. I bought the rest of his collection and just recently pulled it out. A lot of nice things but no real gold! I found three or four pieces of the Pyrite and some raw Copper that makes me wonder if he didn't have a gold stash somewhere! Either way this stuff is gold to me until I get out and discover some of the real stuff! Just thought I would share. The piece in the middle above the stone animal head artifact and below the fish fossil is a slice of rock with veins of copper that was highly polished. It almost looks like a "landscape" the way the copper veins formed and they almost look like gold!
