  • Hi durant, I hear ya!  There are those who asked if I had a "motorized" unit, but with the hand operated crusher, that would defeat the purpose of taking it in the field for sampling without the gas or electric.  Handy.  But when you find something, like a pocket or vein, ya need power!  Electric jack hammer and an impact mill to handle the workload quickly.

  • That looks crazy, what a arm saver that will make for someone. I my self do not have that many rocks to crush and if I get one what will the kids do. LOL

  • It's running pretty smooth actually.  I see your point with the "give" of the chains.  I lathed the spin bar to be sure it was balanced, and weighed and ground the hammers to assure equal weight to keep it balanced.  The shafts are both keyed, and with the neoprene coupler spider has some give to it but not much.  Proof will be in the pudding (or dust I should say!).  I can always make modifications though.

  • I think the Use of Chains is to Save the Motor. the chain gives just enuff that the Impacked Dose not Vibrate the Crank Shaft to Death, sence the Crank and Impact are Connected. Does it Have a Keyway or is it Bolted? something Has to Give if it gets Overloaded. (seen the Hammers Also)

  • Bottom discharge (screened) and can put a large gold pan under it or dump right in to the gold cube.  I have to test everything good before I go in to production.  14"  6.5hp, and not using chains but forged  'hammers".  Toss a ball up and hit it with a solid bat, or toss the ball up and hit it with a chain.  You decide which will hit the ball further! LOL.  First thing I want to do is get rid of big boxes of old motherboards, baggies of old mem sticks and a box of old CPU chips.  BTW, as it sits with a 1/2 tank of gas it weighs in at 107 lbs.

  • WOW

  • WoW thats a Sight for Sore Arms lol, Did you Build it Looks Great I seen one with 6 Chains and a Dump Spout
