Did they tell you about the curse on Bodie? Never take even a stone away from there! There are stories of people having such bad luck, they travelled back to return things, some from a 1000 miles away! That's if you are supersticious.
OMG BODIE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GHOST TOWNS. IF ONLY FOR A DAY WE COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND RUB ELBOWS WITH THE TOWN RESIDENTS. IT IS A MUST SEE IF ANY OF YOU ARE VISITING NORTHERN CALIF.
Bodie was fascinating! I didn't know before going that it was the first town in California to have electricity!
Haven't prospected in the area as it's quite a stretch from here in San Diego. But, have fished alot of the eastern Sierra lakes and streams. Stopped in Mammoth for lunch when we were staying at Gull Lake Lodge in '09!
