Hope the people who saw me working it don't go back, or tell anyone. Most passersby were hunters but had lots of lookers so who knows. Next time I think I'll spend more time vacuuming bedrock and stockpiling material to run later rather than stopping to run.
Indeed Bonnie, it was! Not what I hoped from my test panning last winter where I got 1.5 grams by hand in 90 minutes so I came into this project pretty excited but it turns the spot I test panned happened to have the best gold. It's right by a road so I assume someone will come in after me and finish cleaning it out, and maybe find better gold.
