  • Talon sorry to have taken so long to respond to your comment.  I have 2 printers now the first one I got was a hictop prusa i3 the other is a tronxy x5s both were under 300 bucks... they are a DIY kit meaning u must put them together with not the best instructions since they come from china.. the more expensive printers come pre assembled and tested but cost 800 and up.  3d printers are awesome and can darn near print anything you throw at it.

  • First 3d printed prospecting gear I have seen... Very cool.

  • A secret of working with aluminum is try to think of what has already been made that will work. Lol I spent 13 years as a Sheetmetal mechanic and found many times what the final answer was had already been made. It came down to the question where is it?

A secret I'll pass on. Aluminum is pretty hard to find at a scrap yard, and it gets harder to find scrap yards that will allow picking.  Pick Up truck tool boxes get damaged (even in shipping) and as a rule have a surface worth grabbing. The bottom can be cut off with a saber saw making a nice start for a DIY sluice . the ends if good can be a real nice start for a highbanker.

I am a newbie here but will in the near future post some photos of my 2.5"  DIY Suction dredge/highbanker/sluice combo. One of the things I was stalled out upon was floatation in that I didn't want to use barrels or jugs  but pontoons. I  had a set of ridged pontoons off a floating lounger that I wonderd about and I confirmed my idea as I saw another post here that gave my idea a go ahead as it seems they had alreadt tried it.

  • That's awesome, well done. Kind regards David

  • Those 3D printers are amazing. Do you have a version you can recommend?
